THE PRIESTESS SRIVIA

Women in the Nuragic period (1800-238 B.C.) had great prestige and held undisputed importance in the community. They were strong women, mainstays of the family, industrious, elegant in their clothes and their jewels and the guardians of the divinity’s secrets. Among the women, the great Nuragic priestesses were those able to embark on the journey towards a state of ecstasy for communication with God. They are immortalized in the bronze Nuragic statues, called “bronzetti”, that reproduce the life and piety of our ancestors in miniaturized but intact form. In our story, the priestess, with her royal bearing and severe features, leads us to encounter this far past through a magic and captivating ritual.
